my comments about each chapter here,
added information for each chapter in Revelation
In chapter 19 : 1-2 a great voice in heaven cries out, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belongs to our God for his judgements are true and just, he has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornications, and has avenged on her blood of his servants.”1 Think about the statement here in these two verses above. God has judged, which means his judgement has ended and you can assume that the events in chapter 20 has happened as well when the son of man has been sitting on his throne judges the nations the books have been opened.. Therefore here in chapter 19 there is joy for two reasons, God's judgements were true and “Hallelujah!” the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who is sit on the throne saying, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.” So the reigning has began probably in the new heaven and earth in the new Jerusalem we can assume like a marriage. Jerusalem as a bride adorned for her husband,2 as we have read this chapter 19 :7-8 an indicating what a wonderful event it is that a new Jerusalem in the new heaven and earth, described like this; clothed with fine linen, bright and pure, for the fine linen is righteousness deeds of the saints. Having said this we also know that Jesus is described as a bridegroom going to his wedding.3 So Jerusalem can be the bride I guess.
What is good for you and me is that we are told the angel said to John “Write this; Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” This you being invited to the marriage, means you were invited, prepared invite which we know the invite was before the foundation of the world. 4 The fact that we are invited to the wedding feast brings to light that fact, that is is true, that the course of the earth, humanity, and the end has been decided before the actual foundation of the earth, so you, in a marvellous way have been invited to be part of God's plan and the plan included you would hear the Gospel, you will respond to Jesus, your sins will be forgiven and you became a true child of God and therefore you will be at the wedding feast we are discussing in Revelation 19. And as to make a point the angel said, “These are the true words of God.”5
After witnessing, hearing, the heavens opened,
and a white horse who had a rider called Faithful and True.6
So the rider is the son of man Jesus, who judges in righteousness'
and makes war.
7 So Jesus goes out to war so we should be at war by
preaching the Gospel to snatch people out of the hands of Satan.
Once again we need to understand that Jesus is at war right now in this disposition, so the texts we have just read is applicable from Jesus time, today, and the future. But finally we see the great final battle. We can look at Revelation 13, and particularly chapter 16 : 12-21, where the Euphrates dries up and the kings of the whole world for the great decisive battle, called at the place Armageddon. So as we see in Revelation 19 :19 the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathers to make war against him who sits upon the horse. All the enemies were captured, beast, false prophet and those who had the mark of the beast and worshipped its image. (the image is simply saying you are aligned to Satan and even though you did not realise it, you were worshipping the image, Satan, Beast etc.) and all were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulphur and the rest were slain by the sword. So this chapter 19 covers a lot, highlighting the harlot has been judged, Jesus is praised, Jesus goes on to conquer, then the final battle. We are now moving into a famous chapter in Revelation 20.
Revelation 20 is clearly a climax
concerning the fact that for thousands of years God has told mankind
a day was going to happen where they will have to come before God
and give an account of their lives while they were on the earth.
This chapter makes a mockery of any person who think themselves and
who teach people that when they die and everything they did is gone,
they are gone never to heard of again. I have no hesitation in
saying it is absurd to think that in spite of what the Bible tells
you that people still say, God is lying.11
God's word has not changed, ever, what God has said is as valid
today and it was in the past, so that when the final day of
Judgement arrives what God has said is valid. Later in the chapter
we will look at the judgement hour when the books are opened.
1 I think the harlot concentrates on relationships people and harlot whereas Babylon concentrates on financial, commerce, put together harlot and Babylon you have the complete picture.
2 Revelation 21 : 2
3 Matthew 25 : 5
4 Romans 8 :29 “...Those whom he foreknew he also predestined... “ There are arguments about the meaning of this text, but I will say God new ahead of time, because everything was finished before the foundation of the world Hebrews 4 : 3.
5 Revelation 19 : 9. True because it will happen. God has said it will happen.
6 We know that in Revelation 3 :14, Laodicea “The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness.
7 Often we forget we are supposed to be like soldiers going to war and not be tangled up with the affairs of state 2 Timothy 2 : 4.
8 Revelation 1 :14. eyes are flame of fire is son of man, Jesus.
9 Revelation 19 : 14
10 Clearly you have to make sure you are preaching what Jesus wants you to preach and not your own gospel.
11 1 John 1 : 10
